Mediante el Acuerdo de Gobierno, de 22 de octubre de 2019, el Gobierno de la Generalitat de Cataluña aprobó el encargo a Infraestructures de la Generalitat de Catalunya, SAU (Infraestructures.cat) para el despliegue de tramos y la redacción de proyectos ejecutivos de extensión de la red pública de fibra óptica._x000D_ Estos últimos años, el impulso de políticas públicas desde la Generalitat de Catalunya, en el ámbito de las infraestructuras de comunicaciones electrónicas, se ha orientado al garantizar en todo Cataluña una oferta fundamentada en redes de fibra óptica de nueva generación competitiva y en régimen de competencia, considerándolo como una cuestión estratégica que condicionará el nivel de competitividad económica de nuestro país y su cohesión social y territorial.
