El objetivo del proyecto es la utilización de plataformas y servicios comunes a nivel europeo que permitan el desarrollo y despliegue de las ciudades inteligentes y la provisión de servicios basados en el Internet del Futuro. UVAX pretende, en este contexto, desarrollar una completa solución Open Smart Cities, utilizando innovadoras y punteras tecnologías y metodologías de código abierto con el objetivo de desarrollar una solución Open Smart Cities para la prestación de servicios a ciudadanos y el control inteligente de las ciudades. La nueva plataforma tiene pues como ambicioso objetico convertir las infraestructuras de alumbrado público existente en una autopista de comunicaciones mediante tecnología BPLC (Broadband Power Line Communications), con el objetivo no sólo de implementar un método de tele-gestión y monitorización del servicio de iluminación en tiempo real, sino de abrirse a un sinfín de servicios adicionales que tengan la capacidad de mejorar considerablemente la calidad (Spanish)
