The village Biskupice is located in the southern part of the Banská Bystrica self-governing region in the district of Lučenec. In the village there are 1147 inhabitants in the area of 7.88 km².In the system of the pooled waste management system there is a collection service Mepos s.r.o., Lučenec, which provides transport as well as separation of mixed waste. There is currently no collection yard, large-capacity container or composting plant in the village. These negatives should be eliminated by the implementation of the project called “compostory in the municipality of Biskupice”. The aim of the project is to increase the recovery rate of waste through the implementation of a composting site for the recovery of biodegradable waste, in order to increase the level of recovery of biodegradable municipal waste. The project will establish a municipal composting site and procure the necessary equipment. The implementation of the project will increase waste recovery capacity by 100,00 t per year, increase waste recycling capacity by 100,00 t per year and achieve the amount of recycled non-hazardous waste 100,00 t per year. Obec Biskupice sa nachádza v južnej časti Banskobystrického samosprávneho kraja v okrese Lučenec. V obci žije 1147 obyvateľov na území s rozlohou 7,88 km2.V systéme združeného systému nakladania s odpadmi je zberná služba MEPOS s.r.o., Lučenec, ktorá zabezpečuje odvoz, ako aj separovanie zmesového odpadu. V súčasnosti sa v obci nenachádza zberný dvor, veľkokapacitný kontajnera ani kompostáreň. Uvedené negatíva by mala odstrániť realizácia projektu s názvom „Kompostáreň v obci Biskupice“. Cieľom projektu je zvýšenie miery zhodnocovania odpadov prostredníctvom realizácie kompostoviska na zhodnocovanie biologicky rozložiteľných odpadov, za účelom zvýšenia úrovne zhodnocovania biologicky rozložiteľného komunálneho odpadu. V rámci projektu dôjde k zriadeniu obecného kompostoviska a obstaraniu potrebnej techniky. Realizáciou projektu dôjde k zvýšeniu kapacity pre zhodnocovanie odpadov o 100,00 t za rok, k zvýšeniu kapacity recyklácie odpadu o 100,00 t za rok a dosiahne sa množstvo recyklovaných nie nebezpečných odpadov 100,00 t za rok.
