The main objective of the project is to promote non-motorised transport, in particular to increase the attractiveness of cycling, calm transport and strengthen regional mobility. The main objective of the project will be achieved by building a safe cycle path and a follow-up infrastructure. The implementation of the project activities will increase the share of cycling transport in the overall division of transport work in accordance with the basic vision of the National Strategy for the Development of Cycling Transport and Cycling in the Slovak Republic, cycling will thus start to be considered as a full-fledged mode of transport within the framework of mobility in the Horehronie region, thus also contributing to the perception of cyclists not only in the context of sports or tourism.The main activity of the project is to build a cycle path, or the cycle lane linking the city of Brezno to the economic center Železiarne Podbrezová, a.s., which is the largest employer of the Horehronie region, on the other hand with the centre of the city of Brezna. The implementation of the project activities will lead to the construction of a cycle lane with a total length of 8.74 km and the necessary infrastructure – bicycle racks will be built. The activities of the project will clearly increase the safety of cyclists in public transport, contribute to the protection of the environment and the acceptance of cycling as a fully-fledged type of transport to work.The cycling lane will be built on already existing local and public roads, in some parts a new cycling lane and a bridge for cyclists will be built. The town of Brezno is a district town, economic, economic, tourist, sports and cultural center of the Horehronie region. The established cycle lane will be based on an integrated transport centre, which is a railway station in Brezno together with a public transport station for suburban, long-distance and urban public transport. Towards the east, the cycle lane will lead to the city centre and westward to the main economic node Horehronia – Železiarne Podbrezová, a.s., which have a nationwide and global economic importance. Hlavným cieľom projektu je podpora nemotorovej dopravy, predovšetkým zvýšenie atraktivity cyklistickej dopravy, upokojenie dopravy a posilnenie regionálnej mobility. Hlavný cieľ projektu sa dosiahne vybudovaním bezpečnej cyklotrasy a nadväzujúcej infraštruktúry. Realizáciou aktivít projektu sa zvýši podiel cyklistickej dopravy na celkovej deľbe dopravnej práce v súlade so základnou víziou Národnej stratégie rozvoja cyklistickej dopravy a cykloturistiky v SR, cyklistická doprava sa tak začne považovať za plnohodnotný spôsob prepravy v rámci mobility v regióne Horehronie, čím sa zároveň prispeje k vnímaniu cyklistov nielen v kontexte športového, či turistického vyžitia.Hlavnou aktivitou projektu je vybudovanie cyklotrasy, resp. cyklistického pruhu prepájajúceho mesto Brezno jednak s hospodárskym centrom Železiarne Podbrezová, a.s., ktoré sú najväčším zamestnávateľom regiónu Horehronie, na strane druhej s centrom mesta Brezna. Realizáciou aktivít projektu dôjde k vybudovaniu cyklistického pruhu v celkovej dĺžke 8,74 km a vybuduje sa potrebná infraštruktúra - stojany na bicykle. Aktivitami projektu sa jednoznačne zvýši bezpečnosť cyklistov v rámci verejnej dopravy, prispeje sa k ochrane životného prostredia a k akceptácii cyklistickej dopravy ako plnonohodnotného druhu prepravy do práce.Cyklistický pruh bude vybudovaný na už existujúcich miestnych a verejných komunikáciách, v niektorých častiach bude budovaný nový cyklistický pruh a lávka pre cyklistov.Mesto Brezno je okresným mestom, hospodárskym, ekonomickým, turistickým, športovým a kultúrnym centrom regiónu Horehronie. Vytvorený cyklistický pruh bude vychádzať z integrovaného centra dopravy, ktorým je v Brezne železničná stanica spolu so stanicou verejnej prímestskej, diaľkovej a mestskej hromadnej dopravy. Smerom na východ bude cyklistický pruh viesť do centra mesta a smerom na západ k hlavnému hospodárskemu uzlu Horehronia - Železiarne Podbrezová, a.s., ktoré majú celoslovenský a celosvetový hospodársky význam.
