This project responds to the problems identified on the border area, connected with insufficient level of cultural cooperation between local self-governments in PL and BY, not enough propagation of common cultural heritage, disappearing the old traditions and customs. Lack of tourist routes and publications indicating the most important monuments and attractions that could encourage tourists to visit this area, causes that the potential of the cross-border region of Poland and Belarus is not fully used. In the response to above problems communes of Tuczna (PL), Kleyniki (BY) and Domachevo (BY) prepared this project aimed in developing cooperation between PL and BY local governments in support of maintaining and popularizing common cultural heritage of the border region. Within the project it is planned to organize 3 festivals, workshops and a bike rally promoting folk traditions and tourist attractions of the partner communes. The main outputs of the project are: - Increased number of visitors of the historical heritage and cultural sites - 4700 people - Number of cross-border cultural events organized using ENI support – 4 pcs - Number of participants of cross-border cultural events organized with the support of ENI - 1315 people - Number of publications describing cultural and historical heritage of the region(s) – 2 pcs - Number of new tourist products or services respecting the need to protect the cultural heritage and/or promote local culture -1 piece The project activities will create basis for permanent cooperation of the partners in the field of protection and propagation of the cultural heritage of the borderland. Organized events and workshops for artists will be an occasion for establishing contacts and exchanging experiences between music groups on both sides of the border.
