The general objective pursued by the project team is to increase the space production capacity of the partner enterprises in collaboration with U.P.B. through three components: the manufacture of an innovative industrial product, new in space propulsion worldwide, whose competitiveness is ensured by superior propulsion efficiency to other products; — enhancing the collaboration of U.P.B. with enterprises through technology transfer in the field of design and experimentation of space thrusters; ensuring the role of U.P.B. as a leader in research and university education in the European space field and increasing the visibility of U.P.B. in this position; The objective aims at space propulsion because it is the basis for the ability to conquer extraterrestrial space, and later applications are dependent on the existence of the space launcher. For this reason, their own construction launchers are declared a priority of the space policy of the EU [15] ("The Commission considers it indispensable to define [...] a space industrial policy [...]. Its main objectives would be: strong and balanced development of the industrial base as a whole, including SMEs, greater global competitiveness, non-dependence of strategic sub-sectors such as launchers, which deserve particular attention and market development for space products and services"). Regarding Romania, as a member of the EU, holding its own capacity to launch applicative devices into space will give it a clearly profitable position on the applied astronautics market. The achievement of the objective will transform the national space industry from a potential partner into a real and credible partner for investors, in particular for the European Space Agency (ESA), for which Romania has not only payment obligations but also the right of access to investments. In the context of smart European priorities and national development directions, proving the real performance of the national industry through competitive products like the one proposed, of indisputable utility for the Romanian State, is an obligation of specialists in the field. Achieving the objective will lead to similar applications and developments in other industrial areas that can benefit from the economic effects of advanced technologies, including defence. The objectives are ambitious, at the upper limit allowed by the funding provided, but their achievement is feasible thanks to the experience of the applicant’s team of specialists, the author of numerous research contracts with the rocket engine industry (§4.5.1.). The collective has shown that it is the national best placed to create reliable space propulsion systems. The success of the investment will bring not only high-visibility industrial progress, but through its performance superior to other international products marketed the engine achieved will be absolutely and immediately competitive, including for the market (English)
