Stavba riei úpravu brehov, ochranných hrádzí, vybudovanie nových nábrených protipovodňových múrov, mobilné hradenie a spôsob vypúania vnútorných vôd počas prechodu návrhovej povodne v koryte Hrona a jeho doterajieho inundačného územia cez intravilán mesta Banská Bystrica.Navrhovaná stavba zabezpečí prevedenie návrhových povodňových prietokov Q100 v koryte a k nemu prislúchajúcom ohrádzovanom priestore, v priestore medzi novými nábrenými múrami a v priestore súčasného a budúceho inundačného územia s prevýením 1m nad vypočítanú hladinu Q100.
