Obiectivul general al proiectului constă în eficientizarea sistemului de sănătate, prin reducerea internărilor evitabile și prin accesibilizarea ofertei de servicii de asistență în cadrul ambulatoriului Spitalului Clinic de Urgenţă pentru Copii „Sf. Ioan” Galaţi. Îmbunătăţirea serviciilor în ambulatoriu va avea un răspuns pozitiv de orientare a cazurilor fără complicaţii către serviciile specifice din ambulatoriu, cu rezultate considerabile în degrevarea costurilor sociale de spitalizare şi a celor conexe, precum şi îmbunătăţirea relaţiei medic - pacient .
