Päästeameti kasutuses on hulgaliselt päästesõidukeid, mis lähiaastatel ületavad optimaalse kasutusaja. Projekti raames soetatavad päästesõidukid on oma olemuselt multifunktsionaalsed ning nende olemasolu suurendab lisaks keskkonnaalasele valmisolekule lisandväärtusena ka üldist sisejulgeolekualast turvalisust.
