Sections of voivodeship road No. 501 in the Nowy Dwór poviat, the beginning of which was designated from km 61+925 to the outskirts of the city of Krynica Morska (km 64+070) and Ushakova street in Baltiysk, are important road connections for residents and tourists moving around the area where they are located. Their technical condition is bad. Numerous irregularities, cracks in the surface or damages are just some of the diagnosed problems. This situation has a negative impact on the comfort and the safety of drivers, cyclists and pedestrians. An equally important issue is insufficient international cooperation in the area of infrastructure projects. The main objective of the project is to: “Increase the level of road traffic participants safety and upgrade the condition of the infrastructure of Voivodeship road no. 501 from km 61+925 to the boundaries of the city of Krynica Morska (km 64+070) and Ushakova street in Baltiysk from Chekhova street to Egorova street”, which is directly related to the Thematic Objective of the Program:" Improvement of the accessibility of regions, development of sustainable and climate-resistant transport, as well as communication networks and systems ". As a result of the project, these road sections will be modernized, thanks to which their technical condition will improve significantly, which will positively affect the safety of road traffic participants by reducing the number accidents on the sections in question. The project will contribute to the creation of sustainable cross-border cooperation through planned regular meetings of Partners. This will allow for exchanging experiences in the field of technological solutions, effective ways of management, and for adapting activities of each of the partners towards supporting the development of road transport. Thanks to gaining new knowledge and experience, the partners will be able to jointly implement other investments affecting the socio-economic development of the regions. (English)
