The main objective of the project is to reduce by 10 % the risk of lymphatic oedema in women after treatment of breast cancer in the area covered by the action (Lodz and Mazowieckie provinces) by 10 % during its implementation, through education and rehabilitation, improvement and maintenance of physical performance. The objective will be achieved through actions aimed at early assessment of the risk of oedema, raising awareness of prevention, and improving and maintaining the functional fitness of patients after surgical treatment of breast cancer.Wide access to rehabilitation services, advice from nutritionists and psychologists, workshops and education will have a positive impact on the state of awareness of patients in the field of anti-oedema prevention and willingness to participate in individual and group activities. Effective risk assessment and early diagnosis of lymphatic oedema will make it possible to identify the disease at a reversible stage, thereby avoiding the cost of specialised care. Increasing patient awareness on self-observation, self-massage and exercise will help prevent the effects of treatments related to reduced physical fitness and weight gain and reduce the risk of mortality associated with lack of motor activity. Workshops, consultations with psychologists and nutritionists, motor classes and handing out recommendations from specialists in writing will help to consolidate the effects of the program by introducing correct habits in patients, improving physical and mental form. The effect of the project will be to reduce or remove the negative effects of surgical treatment of cancer in the context of physical fitness and the possibility of returning to work. As a result of the project, 1050 women of the working age with recognised breast cancer qualified for surgical treatment will be covered by physiotherapy activities, will benefit from motor classes, workshops and advice. The project will be implemented in the period from 01.01.2021 to 30.06.2023. (English)
