Young Europeans want to save a common historical and cultural heritage in Sokal district and Przemysl Poviat. The project idea is to carry out the international cross-border volunteer camps "Our Common Cultural Heritage" in order to renovate historical and architectural objects in the cities of Ugniv (Ukraine) and the city of Przemysl (Poland). During 22 days, 18 volunteers from Belarus, Poland and Ukraine will work on the territory of the historical-cultural reserve, in the synagogue and in the Jewish cemetery, as well as in the Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic churches, performing renovations. Young people will also learn the history of Western Ukraine and Eastern Poland, visit Belz, Sokal, Chervonograd, Zhovkva in Ukraine; Forts of Przemysl, Ustrzyki Gorne, Zamosc in Poland. Volunteers will meet the representatives of local authorities, residents, become participants in many practical and theoretical lessons. Before the end of camp, volunteers themselves will collect and prepare information for publications. Materials will reflect new approaches and ideas regarding the preservation of monuments and ways of raising funds (involving sponsors, donations, community forces). The creative visions of young people, the conclusions they will make during their meetings with professionals and during their work on specific sites will be reflected in printed form: tourist leaflet with information on interesting places in Sokal district and Przemysl Poviat, a brochure on the history of Ugniv and Przemysl, as well as photopresentations for local authorities, owners of tourist facilities and hotels to use freely and distribute them in order to promote the region among tourists. Mountains Guides Association "Rovin" from Lviv and Local Tourist Organization of Przemysl - the camp organizers - aim to popularize ideas of volunteering among young people and of supporting preservation of cultural and historical heritage.
