Projektet ska bidra med nya miljövänliga produkter som utvinns ur skogen i Mellersta Norrland. De ska också utveckla och stärka den regionala skogsindustrin och dess kringverksamhet genom forskning mot nya produkter och processer som ska kommersialiseras av företagen.Projektet ska också bygga en stark forskningsmiljö inom bioraffinaderi- och miljöområdet samt skapa synergieffekter mellan Mittuniversitetet och företagen.
