Projekt zakłada poprawę ograniczonego potencjału operacyjnego terminalu w Gliwicach poprzez zwiększenie jego zdolności przeładunkowej w wyniku rozbudowy i doposażenia w nowoczesne urządzenia przeładunkowe typu RTG oraz maszyny przeładunkowe. Rozbudowany terminal jako element systemu transportu intermodalnego, będzie służył zwiększeniu udziału transportu kolejowego w odniesieniu do transportu drogowego, tym samym przyczyni się do zwiększenia udziału transportu intermodalnego w ogólnych przewozach ładunków. Planowana inwestycja będzie obejmować takie działania jak: - budowa bramy wjazdowo / wyjazdowej na teren terminala wraz z zapleczem biurowym, - zapewnienie funkcjonalnego dojazdu do terenów terminala, - stworzenie obszaru dla preawizacji pojazdów wjeżdżających na teren terminala (parking dla pojazdów ciężarowych), - stworzenie obszaru parkingowo – manewrowego dla pojazdów ciężarowych, - stworzenie obszaru na potrzeby składowania kontenerów (tzw. depot) wraz z zapleczem tj.: obiektem na wjeździe dla dyspozytora (Polish)
