This project consists of the implementation of industrial research for the development of a prototype platform for air pollution forecasting and monitoring.The proposed functionalities of this tool will enable:effective dispersal of pollution (smog), remedial action to reduce low emissions, creation of an efficient database on possible risks, early warning of residents at alert levels of air pollutants.Innovation of the platform will be reflected by a higher efficiency of dispersion prediction, the inclusion of emission sources in relation to the development of the land and the height of the building, the possibility to integrate the proposed tool with the existing sensor systems and the meteorological stations used by local and regional authorities.The project will be carried out at the consortium of the company ABAKUS Information and Communication Systems Sp. z o.o. and the scientific unit — the University of Bielsko-Biała.After the completion of industrial research and the achievement of the planned results of the Consortia Business Consortium (ABAKUS), it is planning to carry out further development and investment work in order to implement the project’s results in its economic activities.The target audience will be the local government units responsible for implementing health and air quality policies at local level.The scale of the problems caused by the poor quality of the atmosphere, the potential economic and social benefits resulting from the use of the developed solution, as well as the interest in future customers expressed in letters of intent, fully confirms the need for this project. Przedmiotowy projekt polega na realizacji badań przemysłowych w zakresie opracowania prototypu platformy do prognozowania i monitorowania zanieczyszczeń powietrza. Projektowane funkcjonalności tego narzędzia umożliwią: skuteczną predykcję rozprzestrzeniania się zanieczyszczeń (smogu), podejmowanie działań zaradczych na rzecz ograniczania niskiej emisji, stworzenie efektywnej bazy danych o możliwych zagrożeniach, wczesne ostrzeganie mieszkańców o poziomach alarmowych zanieczyszczeń powietrza. Innowacyjność platformy wyrażać się będzie poprzez wyższą skuteczność prognozowania dyspersji zanieczyszczeń, uwzględnienie źródeł emisji w powiązaniu z ukształtowaniem terenu i wysokością zabudowy, możliwość integracji proponowanego narzędzia z istniejącymi już systemami czujników oraz stacji meteorologicznych wykorzystywanymi przez organy samorządowe. Projekt realizowany będzie w Konsorcjum przedsiębiorstwa ABAKUS Systemy Teleinformatyczne Sp. z o.o. oraz jednostki naukowej - Akademii Techniczno-Humanistycznej w Bielsku-Białej. Po zrealizowaniu badań przemysłowych i osiągnięciu zaplanowanych rezultatów Konsorcjant biznesowy (ABAKUS) planuje realizację dalszych prac rozwojowych i inwestycyjnych w celu wdrożenia wyników projektu w swojej działalności gospodarczej. Do grupy docelowej odbiorców należeć będą jednostki samorządu terytorialnego odpowiedzialne za realizację polityk ochrony zdrowia i ochrony powietrza na poziomie lokalnym. Skala problemów wynikających ze złej jakości atmosfery, potencjalne korzyści ekonomiczne i społeczne z tytułu stosowania opracowanego rozwiązania, jak również zainteresowanie przyszłych Klientów wyrażone w postaci listów intencyjnych w pełni potwierdza potrzebę realizacji przedmiotowego projektu.
