The objective of the programme is to evaluate the clinical and economic application of a prototype new device for scanning, handling telemedicine and to archive cytological samples in cervical cancer screening. The high incidence and mortality of cervical cancer is an epidemiological problem in Poland since years. The project aims to modify the current model of cervical cancer screening by using a new machine to scan a new machine for scanning, telemedical services and archive cytological samples. The task of the new device is to transform current microscopes of optical microscopes into full independent scanning systems by means of cytological sampling by adding a functional valve ensuring precise control of the location of samples during scanning. The samples may come from classical cytological tests as well as from the cystic cytology in the liquid phase. In addition, software will be created to support the remote analysis of a sample by the pathomorologist (whose effectiveness and cost-effectiveness will be tested in a planned clinical trial) and a central database for the archiving of the scanned samples in digital form, raising extremely important security for the storage of information, also possible for use in the course of training doctors. At present, there is no market for the Polish and European system of support for the archiving and dissemination of results in “wholesale” quantities. Celem programu jest ocena kliniczna i ekonomiczna zastosowania prototypu nowego urządzenia do skanowania, obsługi telemedycznej i archiwizowania próbek cytologicznych w badaniach przesiewowych w kierunku raka szyjki macicy. (Polish)
