Projekt řeší výstavbu a bezpečné trasování městské cyklostezky jako jako stezky pro cyklisty a chodce částečně se společným a částečně s odděleným provozem, která je vedena v trasách stávajících pěších komunikací. Cyklostezka bude plnit sběrnou funkci a z hlediska cyklodopravy zajišťovat propojení obytné zástavby sídliště Střed s jeho centrální částí, současně představuje propojení centrální části města s páteřní cyklotrasou Zlín - Otrokovice Vizovice.
