Náplní předloženého projektu je rekonstrukce železniční stanice Letohrad. Stanice leží na trati č. 024 Ústí nad Orlicí - Štíty, která je v úseku Ústí nad Orlicí - Lichkov součástí globální sítě TEN-T. Účelem je zvýšení rychlosti pro průjezd vlaků, zlepšení komfortu cestujících při přístupu k vlakům vybudováním podchodu vč. nových nástupišť a zvýšení bezpečnosti dopravy instalací nového zabezpečovacího zařízení, které umožní dálkové ovládaní z CDP Praha.
