Projekt je zaměřen na modernizaci a ekologizaci vozového parku Dopravního podniku měst Chomutova a Jirkova a.s. (DPCHJ) prostřednictvím pořízení nových nízkopodlažních trolejbusů (15 ks) a 2 CNG autobusů, které nahradí ve stejném počtu stávající, nevyhovující vozidla. Realizace by měla mít dopad na zlepšení kvality ŽP, zvýšení komfortu cestování, úsporu přepravního času a zpřístupnění MHD cestujícím se sníženou schopností pohybu a orientace (zvýšení počtu nízkopodlažních vozidel).
