The implementation of the project results from the need to reduce the negative environmental impact of municipal waste generation by increasing the efficiency of the operation of the ZUOK sorting plant (increased recovery of raw materials), as well as creating conditions for the temporary collection and storage of waste in order to achieve the required levels of recycling and recovery of municipal waste imposed by national and EU law. The project plans to complete the technology line of the sorting plant by buying and assembling a bag breaker, a eddy current separator (non-ferrous metal recovery) and rebuilding the existing sieve and building storage boxes for recovered raw materials together with the purchase and delivery of self-loading containers and 2 telescopic loaders. As a result of the project, the efficiency of the waste management system in the Region will increase, the stream of waste directed to landfill will be reduced, the idea of selective collection will be widespread and there will be resource savings.     Realizacja projektu wynika z konieczności ograniczenia negatywnego wpływu na środowisko wytwarzanych odpadów komunalnych poprzez zwiększenie efektywności funkcjonowania sortowni ZUOK (zwiększony odzysk surowców),a także stworzenie warunków do tymczasowego zbierania i magazynowania odpadów w celu osiągnięcia wymaganych poziomów recyklingu i odzysku odpadów komunalnych narzuconych prawem krajowym i unijnym. W ramach projektu planuje się kompleksowo uzupełnić linię technologiczną sortowni poprzez zakup i montaż rozrywarki do worków, separatora wiroprądowego (odzysk metali nieżelaznych) i przebudowę istniejącego sita oraz wybudować boksy magazynowe na odzyskane surowce wraz z zakupem i dostawą kontenerów samowyładowczych i 2 ładowarek teleskopowych. W wyniku realizacji projektu zwiększy się efektywność systemu zagospodarowania odpadów w Regionie, ograniczy się strumień odpadów kierowanych do składowania, rozpowszechni się ideę selektywnej zbiórki oraz nastąpi oszczędność zasobów.
