Projekt zakłada zbudowanie, w partnerstwie z gminami powiatu: Gminą Mszczonów, Gminą Puszcza Mariańska, Gminą Radziejowice, Gminą Wiskitki, Miastem Żyrardów systemu ostrzegania i alarmowania ludności o zagrożeniach terrorystycznych, katastrofami naturalnymi i technicznymi, ekstremalnymi zjawiskami pogody, wystąpieniu skażeń zagrażających ludziom i środowisku. W skład systemu wejdzie zlokalizowana w starostwie powiatowym modułowa centrala alarmowa oraz 23 punkty alarmowe - elektroniczne syreny szczelinowe o mocy 600 W i 900 W - zamontowane na wytypowanych obiektach na obszarze gmin. Budowany system będzie stanowił podsystem wojewódzkiego zintegrowanego systemu umożliwiającego uruchomienie wszystkich syren bądź selektywnie każdej indywidualnie z poziomu powiatu oraz województwa.
