    Projekt řeší problematiku nevyhovujícího stavu a nedostatečné kapacity prostor žadatele, Alšovy jihočeské galerie, pro jeho činnost, kterou je sbírková, výstavní činnost a uchovávání uměleckých sbírek v depozitářích. Z těchto důvodů je nutná rekonstrukce Wortnerova domu, který má žadatel ve své správě. Realizací projektu se zlepší současný stav budovy, zefektivní se ochrana, uchování a zpřístupnění sbírkových fondů a celkově se celý objekt žadatele více přizpůsobí aktuálním potřebám návštěvníků.
