The project provides for the creation of an innovative product, i.e. The Emerging Unit (MU) — an autonomous process to control a process rail interface that is able to process analogue signals to digital and vice versa in order to implement it on the market of transmission and distribution network operators. The purpose of this device is to enable the existing analogue technology equipment to be able to work together with the safety, control and control apparatus of the various manufacturers. The realisation of the project by carrying out industrial research and development will allow the development of an innovative product in the form of an MU device, the application of which will result in the replacement of tens of km of copper cables in the electricity station by a smaller number of fibres and increase the security of the electricity system by increasing the speed of the response of controls and distribution devices, ensuring their continuous and reliable operation.     Projekt przewiduje stworzenie innowacyjnego produktu, tj. Merging Unit (MU) – autonomicznego urządzenia stanowiącego węzeł sterujący szyny procesowej, które zdolne jest przetwarzać sygnały analogowe na cyfrowe i odwrotnie, w celu wdrożenia go na rynku operatorów sieci przesyłowej i dystrybucyjnej. Urządzenie to ma umożliwić współpracę istniejących już na obiektach urządzeń działających w technologii analogowej z aparaturą zabezpieczeniową, sterowniczą i kontrolną różnych producentów. Realizacja projektu poprzez przeprowadzenie badań przemysłowych i prac rozwojowych pozwoli na opracowanie innowacyjnego produktu w postaci urządzenia MU, którego zastosowanie spowoduje zastąpienie dziesiątek kilometrów kabli miedzianych na stacji elektroenergetycznej mniejszą liczbą światłowodów oraz zwiększenie bezpieczeństwa systemu elektroenergetycznego przez zwiększenie szybkości reakcji urządzeń sterujących i rozdzielczych, zapewnienie ich nieprzerwanego i niezawodnego działania.
