Projekt dotyczy rozwoju działu badawczo-rozwojowego firmy Totem i przeprowadzenia autorskiego procesu badawczego. Będzie się on skupiać na aspektach oprawy książek drukowanych w zwojowej technologii ink-jet. Docelowo powstanie rozwiązanie - proces produkcyjny, które pozwoli na realizację niskonakładowego druku wydawnictw dziełowych w oprawie szytej nićmi. Założeniem badawczym jest uzyskanie takiego procesu, który pozwoli na opłacalną produkcję tych skomplikowanych wydawnictw już od 1 egzemplarza. Ważnym założeniem projektowym jest także możliwość uzupełnienia książek w specjalne znaczniki, które rozszerzać będą treść tradycyjną informacjami podanymi w technologiach informatycznych (wydawnictwa wpisujące się w definicję tzw. nowych mediów, których cechą podstawową jest multimedialność i crossmedialność).Wnioskodawca planuje, iż w przypadku uzyskania pozytywnych wyników badań, do oferty wejdą 2 innowacyjne usługi:- usługa niskonakładowego druku wydawnictw wysokojakościowych w oprawie szytej nićmi, z rozszerzeniami treści (nowe media);- usługa niskonakładowego druku wydawnictw wysokojakościowych w oprawie szytej nićmi z możliwością powiększenia formatu książki (usługa wpisująca się w definicję "Dostępności +", dedykowana osobom z wadami wzroku).Opracowana technologia pozwalać będzie na integrację z cyfrowymi kanałami sprzedaży, co stanowić będzie odpowiedź na problemy branży wydawniczej, związane z logistyką sprzedaży w księgarniach tradycyjnych. Aspekt ten szczególnie uwypuklił się w okresie pandemii koronawirusa COVID-19. (Polish)

The project concerns the development of Totem’s R & D department and conducting the proprietary research process. It will focus on aspects of the binding of printed books in the scrolled ink-jet technology. Ultimately, a solution will be created — a production process that will allow for the implementation of low-volume printing of works publications in a thread-sewn frame. The research assumption is to obtain such a process that will allow the cost-effective production of these complex publications from just 1 copy. An important design assumption is also the possibility of supplementing books with special tags, which will expand the content of traditional information provided in information technologies (publishing the definition of so-called new media, the basic feature of which is multimedia and cross-media).The applicant plans that in case of obtaining positive results, two innovative services will be included in the offer:- the service of low-volume printing of high-quality publications in the framed with threads, with extensions of content (new media); the service of low-volume printing of high-quality publications in a frame sewn with threads with the possibility of enlarging the book format (a service in line with the definition of “Access +”, dedicated to people with visual defects).Developed technology will allow integration with digital sales channels, which will be an answer to the problems of the publishing industry related to sales logistics in traditional bookstores. This aspect was particularly highlighted during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. (English)
