The main objective of the project is to improve the quality of pre-school education and to increase the number of permanent places of pre-school education in the municipality of Wejherowo. The project will cover 32 preschool children, 26 teachers and 32 parents/legal guardians. As part of the project, it is planned to adapt 2 places of pre-school education to the needs of children with disabilities by extending the therapeutic offer of the Special Kindergarten at the District Special Education Complex in Wejherowo. Pupils of kindergarten will be supported in the form of additional activities increasing their educational opportunities in pre-school education and aimed at the development of key competences and universal skills. In connection with the introduction of new methods and therapies, the project also planned professional development of teachers in the field of working with children with special development and educational needs. Activities supporting teachers are complementary to those aimed at children. The project ensures the sustainability of the effects for a minimum of three years from the date of completion of the project. The planned activities are in line with the Wejherowski County’s policy in the area of pre-school education and contribute to qualitative changes in the functioning of the PLO and result from a diagnosis prepared on the basis of an analysis of the situation of Special Kindergarten at PZKS in Wejherowo (the only PLO of which is the leading authority). Celem głównym projektu jest poprawa jakości edukacji przedszkolnej oraz zwiększona liczba trwałych miejsc edukacji przedszkolnej na terenie gminy miejskiej Wejherowo. Projektem zostanie objętych 32 dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym, 26 nauczycieli oraz 32 rodziców/ opiekunów prawnych. W ramach projektu zaplanowano dostosowanie 2 miejsc wychowania przedszkolnego do potrzeb dzieci z niepełnosprawnościami poprzez rozszerzenie oferty terapeutycznej Przedszkola Specjalnego przy Powiatowym Zespole Kształcenia Specjalnego w Wejherowie. Wychowankowie przedszkola zostaną objęci wsparciem w postaci dodatkowych zajęć zwiększających ich szanse edukacyjne w ramach edukacji przedszkolnej oraz ukierunkowanych na rozwój kompetencji kluczowych oraz umiejętności uniwersalnych. W związku z wprowadzeniem nowych metod i terapii w projekcie zaplanowano także doskonalenie zawodowe nauczycieli w zakresie pracy z dzieckiem o specjalnych potrzebach rozwojowych i edukacyjnych. Działania wspierające nauczycieli są komplementarne z działaniami skierowanymi do dzieci. Projekt zapewnia trwałość efektów przez minimum trzy lata od daty zakończenia realizacji projektu. Zaplanowane działania są zgodne z polityką Powiatu Wejherowskiego w obszarze wychowania przedszkolnego i przyczyniają się do jakościowych zmian w funkcjonowaniu OWP oraz wynikają z diagnozy opracowanej na podstawie analizy sytuacji Przedszkola Specjalnego przy PZKS w Wejherowie (jedynego OWP, którego Powiat Wejherowski jest organem prowadzącym).
