This project is directed to reducing energy consumption in municipality buildings with public functions and thus will affect the development of environment protection activities, which for its part would have a positive impact on improving the quality of life for people on both sides of the border in cross border region. The overall objective is to prevent the environment through reduction of energy consumption in the municipal buildings in Rila and Probishtip. The envisaged main outputs are: enhanced capacity of municipalities teams in in the field of local sustainable energy planning; rehabilitated municipal buildings in Rila and Probishtip - Improved condition of the public buildings and enhancement of its energy efficiency; reduced expenses in municipality budgets through saving energy; extended exploitation of public infrastructure; Improved comfort of public buildings; reducing carbon emissions from public buildings; ensured access of people with disabilities to the buildings; Implemented actions for environmental protection in the cross-border area; conducted energy efficiency seminar in Rila; strengthen relationships between the municipality of Rila and municipality of Probishtip and expert level of colaboration; raised awareness of new methods in energy consumption reduction; analyzing new technologies and approaches that can improve efficiency uptake; and examining a new regulatory structure to support new approaches to energy efficiency.
