The project’s aim is to make waste streams ecologically meaningful and sustainable. Concepts for supraregional collection points will be developed and waste separation will be improved in residential buildings. RE-USE is to be established nationwide and transnationally. Furthermore, the reuse and recycling rates should be increased in the project regions in order to contribute to the reduction of environmental impacts. Existing waste management plans that go beyond the statutory level are examined for improvements and appropriate know-how for their creation is made available to those participating regions that do not yet have waste management plans. Due to different human resources and different time management during the takeover, the collected waste in the waste collection points are separated differently despite uniform collection specifications. This actual state is analyzed and evaluated and barriers and obstacles are raised to increase the separation accuracy. Improvement measures are worked out and implemented based on these results in pilot projects. Targeted training, newly developed documents, and the optimization of workflows during the takeover will improve the separation. The results of the analyzes are crucial for the preparation of improvement measures for the separation and the verification of their effectiveness. (English)
