    Woman is mostly presented as so called “second gender” who should be able to adjust to the male norms. Still in both of our countries there are patterns and norms inherited and transmitted among generations - from mother to doter and from father to son. It underlines different life conditions for woman and man. Even women make up 52 % of the total European population, only 34.4 % of the European Union are self-employed and 30 % of start-up entrepreneurs.Based on the World Bank research, Serbia is a country with transitional economy and high unemployment rate, particularly among females. If we look back in history, Serbia, as a part of former Yugoslavia was mostly dependent on the large public companies, which are, nowadays, among the largest debtors. Therefore SMEs’ have a main role in the sustainable development of Serbian economy. Croatia is a country that is favorable for the development of women's entrepreneurship, especially after became EU member, but there are still many obstacles that should to be solved in order to increase the support to women business.The overall objective of the project Women Business HUB is: Creating conditions for women economic empowerment in the border region Croatia – Serbia through networking and HUB establishing. By implementing of planned activities, our project will impacted to the development of businesses lead by women and to provide possibilities for new jobs. Project outputs: Women Business HUB revitalizated and equipped, Women Business Club equipped, Min 200 potential women entrepreneurs educated, Min 500 women entrepreneurs educated, Min 5 new SMEs established by women during the project implementation. Target group: women entrepreneuers and potential entrepreneuers in SB county (Serbia) and OB county (Croatia). The added value of the project is developing of strategic possibilities and competitive advantage by positioning the entire CBC region as a women-business-friendly environment. (English)
