Smart Living technologies are becoming a core topic for AS based leading tech providers but AS weaknesses (limited inter-alpine R&I cooperation & awareness of R&I results) prevent the area to become a leading destination for excellence in this field. As identified in EUSALP, it is crucial that available research capacity & innovation leaders are better bundled in the AS innovation landscape and R&I capacity & results better transferred into practice. / By using smart living technologies as thematic playground, CARE4TECH transforms available but spread AS research, tech & innovation scene into stable EU leading knowledge development arena leading to better cooperation between all quadruple helix actors. / CARE4TECH combines in an innovative way 2020 research agenda technology oriented principles & goals with a transnational quadruple helix multilevel policy oriented approach: So a perfect combination of thematic oriented innovation practices & policy support structures enable the raise of a better AS innovation landscape. / 4 logical steps lead to 4 outputs anchored to a permanent policy involvement & impact controlling system: 1) map of leading cases & approaches classified in a knowledge database (AS Knowledge Atlas); 2) thematic excellences grouped to cooperate (AS Alliances) and 3) supported by quadruple helix based teams (AS Task Forces) to jointly learn & innovate through a living lab based learning system (Alpine Campus); 4) setting of a permanent policy & stakeholders platform linked to EU initiatives (Vanguard / RIS3 etc) to fully exploit outputs & their technological / strategic potential (AS Think Tank). / Outputs + Results can only be achieved by pooling together the best complementary existing AS knowledge base spread in all regions: This connects & reinforces technology excellences, provides essential inputs towards a mature AS innovation policy & allows to achieve a joint future quadruple helix based innovation agenda owned by the whole programme area.
