Exclusion and not feeling needed is a tragedy for the individual, for families and for the entire community. The groups that are furthest away from the labor market will become an increasingly large share of the unemployed. These include those who are disabled, over 55, have low education or were not born in Europe. In 2018, they are expected to constitute 80 percent of the unemployed according to a new prediction from the employment office. With this project, we will develop, coordinate and transfer good practices for work integration at two cities in Västerbotten - Skellefteå and Norsjö. The target groups of the project are on sick leave, unemployed and people in need of language training. Based on the needs we identified from reports and studies from regional and local development plans and the authorities responsible for the target groups we will develop new innovative working methods. A successful job integration should be built on influence, an holistic point of view, time, and continuity regardless of whether you are unemployed, sick or in need of language training. Each initiative is unique and needs to be adapted to each individual, which means that the time participants involved in the project activities can vary. In this project, we want to bring stakeholders from the social economy together with the public sector, primary health care and the regions trade and industry to develop new ways to give people in need of labor integration an opportunity to actively influence their way back to work through influence and continuity. We want to establish more efficient paths between medical rehabilitation and employment rehabilitation. We want to build on the already established cooperation that exists between many rehab actors in the public and voluntary sectors and the regional economy. We want to reduce gender segregation in the labor market through targeted training to participants and industry. Enable the business community, and create opportunities for more jobs for the target group by influencing attitudes, identify new tasks, workstations for language training and to support the development of new social enterprises.
