Work is an important part of integration. There are major differences in employment and unemployment between citizens born in the country and abroad, especially as regards women. With this project LANDA, we strive to develop the coordinating association's opportunities to capture and support the target group of foreign-born people with complex problems in long-term exclusion and newcomers who are at risk of long-term exclusion. By strengthening the role of the Coordinating association for the target group, together with our parties and civil society organizations, more individuals will reach or approach work or studies. The project is run by the Samordningsförbundet Gothenburg, which is a joint organization between employment services, social insurance fund, region and municipality. Today, residents of Gothenburg receive different support depending on where they live in the city. The support that is offered is sometimes more about the range that exists in a defined geographical area than the individual need for support that exists. The Coordinating Association sees that there is a need for increased equal access to adequate interventions, which is more based on the individual's need for support and which works to give them their rights. By applying the Service Design method, the project will look at the experiences of the target group in long-term alienation. This is to offer ideas on the development needs of support efforts to new arrivals in order to speed up integration and prevent any more new arrivals from risking long-term alienation. The project will be permeated by the Human Rights perspective. There will be focus on all people's right to work and the support needed to get work and access to study. A segregated labor market restricts the right of certain groups to have access to the entire labor market, and in other words, integration becomes a necessary condition for strengthening the right to work for all. Strongly linked to this right is also the right not to be discriminated against, the right to information, the right to participate in decisions that affect the individual. In summary, the Coordinating association sees a need to develop the work with foreign-born women and men who do not have an establishment in the labor market. It is not uncommon for individuals with complex problems of unemployment and ill-health or disability, reduced ability to work, language barriers or lack of knowledge of Swedish society, something we have chosen to call welfare knowledge. About 240 women and men will have access to the project's activities. 75% of all participants should feel that the project has helped them approach the labor market. The main goal of the LANDA project is to increase the actual integration into society for the target group. It is about providing improved opportunities for education, employment, work and participation for foreign-born men and women who are particularly distant from the labor market or who are at risk of long-term alienation from unemployment.
