Property / summary

ISS Catering B.V. is one of the largest facility service providers in the Netherlands. The work carried out from ISS Catering B.V. focuses primarily on catering. These activities are mainly of a physical nature and often in the presence of guests and customers. This physical work combined with different working hours, with an ageing workforce, led to an absence rate of 30 % older employees with work-related complaints. ISS Catering B.V. wants to take actions to ensure that these employees work well up to the retirement age. Reducing physical work by 50 % should achieve this. The 50 % non-physical work is used to guide employees in their daily work from social inclusion policies, for example young workers who are unfit for work or those with refugee background. The knowledge and experience of the group of older employees is therefore adequately used to integrate the employees from a disadvantage to the labour market as well as possible into the work process. As a result, older employees experience more job satisfaction in the short term and did not strengthen company-specific skills and enable them to participate in the labour market in a healthy way up to retirement age. In addition, the knowledge and experience of the elderly ensures that the guidance is achieved as efficiently as possible. This will allow for a proper reintegration of barriers to work in the medium term. (English)

(Dutch)
