    Centrumgemeente Leeuwarden ontvangt namens de arbeidsmarktregio Friesland 6,3 miljoen euro subsidie uit het Europese Corona Noodfonds genaamd REACT-EU. Deze gelden heeft de Europese Commissie beschikbaar gesteld om de werkgelegenheids- en sociale effecten van de COVID-19-crisis aan te pakken. Leeuwarden verdeeld deze Europese subsidie over alle Friese gemeenten. Gemeenten zetten deze subsidie in voor ondersteuning en bemiddeling naar werk van ruim 4.200 inwoners die sinds februari 2020 een werkloosheidsuitkering ontvangen.
