Gouda Library challenges people to get the best out of themselves by reading and continuing to learn, throughout life. We share our people and collections, our knowledge and connections and offer everyone from 0 to 100 years of age a VENSTER ON THE WORLD. The organisation is supported by a modest formation of highly motivated, professional staff (approx. 20 fte) and a loyal corps of volunteers. In the changing world, the shape and role of the Library and thus of its employees is also changing. A successful library knows the essence of its right to exist: to combine reading, learning and dreams with the new ways in which these three essential building blocks are needed in society. That means that although reading and learning are always at the heart of everything we do, we find that reading and learning must also be shaped in new ways. For the employees, it means that the ‘old’ functions are no longer filled as before. This requires flexibility and other skills of our employees. Skills in which we present the library as a house of language and story where there is a place for everyone. As an organisation, we want to create a motivated and enthusiastic team that is ready for the future. Together with all employees, we look for the points of attention and ensure structural improvement of these points of interest. Bibliotheek Gouda daagt mensen uit het beste uit zichzelf te halen door te lezen en te blijven leren, gedurende het hele leven. Wij delen onze mensen en collecties, onze kennis en connecties en bieden daarmee iedereen van 0 tot 100 jaar een VENSTER OP DE WERELD. De organisatie wordt gedragen door een bescheiden formatie van zeer gemotiveerde, professionele medewerkers (ca. 20 fte) en een loyaal corps van vrijwilligers. In de veranderende wereld verandert ook de vorm en de rol van de Bibliotheek en dus ook van haar medewerkers. Een succesvolle bibliotheek weet de kern van haar bestaansrecht: lezen, leren en dromen te combineren met de nieuwe manieren waarop deze drie essentiële bouwstenen in de samenleving nodig zijn. Dat betekent dat, hoewel lezen en leren altijd aan de basis staan van alles wat wij doen, we merken dat ook het lezen en het leren op nieuwe manieren moet worden vormgegeven. Voor de medewerkers betekent het dat de 'oude' functies niet meer zo worden ingevuld als vroeger. Dit vraagt flexibiliteit en andere vaardigheden van onze medewerkers. Vaardigheden waarbij we de bibliotheek presenteren als een huis van taal en verhaal waar er een plek is voor iedereen. Wij willen als organisatie komen tot een gemotiveerd en enthousiast team dat klaar is voor de toekomst. Samen met alle medewerkers gaan wij op zoek naar de aandachtspunten en zorgen we voor structurele verbetering van deze aandachtspunten. We bouwen een nieuw functiehuis en hieraan gekoppeld maken we een ontwikkelplan. (Dutch)

La Biblioteca Gouda desafía a las personas a sacar lo mejor de sí mismas leyendo y continuando aprendiendo, a lo largo de la vida. Compartimos nuestra gente y colecciones, nuestros conocimientos y conexiones y ofrecemos a todos de 0 a 100 años de edad un Venster ON THE WORLD. La organización cuenta con el apoyo de una modesta formación de personal altamente motivado, profesional (aproximadamente 20 pies) y un cuerpo leal de voluntarios. En el mundo cambiante, también está cambiando la forma y el papel de la Biblioteca y, por tanto, de sus empleados. Una biblioteca exitosa conoce la esencia de su derecho a existir: combinar la lectura, el aprendizaje y los sueños con las nuevas formas en que estos tres componentes esenciales son necesarios en la sociedad. Esto significa que, aunque la lectura y el aprendizaje están siempre en el centro de todo lo que hacemos, encontramos que la lectura y el aprendizaje también deben ser moldeados de nuevas maneras. Para los empleados, significa que las funciones «antiguas» ya no están cubiertas como antes. Esto requiere flexibilidad y otras habilidades de nuestros empleados. Habilidades en las que presentamos la biblioteca como una casa de lenguaje e historia donde hay un lugar para todos. Como organización, queremos crear un equipo motivado y entusiasta que esté listo para el futuro. Junto con todos los empleados, buscamos los puntos de atención y aseguramos la mejora estructural de estos puntos de interés. Gouda Library sfida le persone a ottenere il meglio da se stesse leggendo e continuando ad apprendere, per tutta la vita. Condividiamo le nostre persone e le nostre collezioni, le nostre conoscenze e connessioni e offriamo a tutti da 0 a 100 anni di età un Venster ON THE WORLD. L'organizzazione è supportata da una modesta formazione di personale altamente motivato e professionale (circa 20 fte) e da un corpo fedele di volontari. Nel mondo in evoluzione, anche la forma e il ruolo della Biblioteca e quindi dei suoi dipendenti stanno cambiando. Una biblioteca di successo conosce l'essenza del suo diritto di esistere: coniugare la lettura, l'apprendimento e i sogni con i nuovi modi in cui questi tre elementi essenziali sono necessari nella società. Ciò significa che anche se la lettura e l'apprendimento sono sempre al centro di tutto ciò che facciamo, riteniamo che anche la lettura e l'apprendimento debbano essere plasmati in modi nuovi. Per i dipendenti, ciò significa che le "vecchie" funzioni non sono più coperte come prima. Ciò richiede flessibilità e altre competenze dei nostri dipendenti. Competenze in cui presentiamo la biblioteca come una casa di lingua e storia dove c'è un posto per tutti. Come organizzazione, vogliamo creare un team motivato ed entusiasta che sia pronto per il futuro. Insieme a tutti i dipendenti, cerchiamo i punti di attenzione e garantiamo il miglioramento strutturale di questi punti di interesse. Costruiamo una nuova casa di funzioni e collegati a questo creiamo un piano di sviluppo. (Italian)
