Involvement of staff in quality and safety necessary Koole Terminals has initiated a project in which work is carried out on an integrated safety culture at its terminals in various areas. After various acquisitions and the associated growth, Koole now finds it time to work towards a common safety culture. In order to achieve this, projects will be carried out under the leadership of local managers addressing various different security issues. A special feature of these projects is that there is a strong input from the operational workplace. Through the training the trainer principle a number of so-called HSEQ ambassadors will be trained in matters such as incident research, training and appeal to behaviour. These ambassadors (who represent the workplace all terminals in the Netherlands), also participate in the design of the projects, the training of colleagues and act as a contact point in the workplace. The aim is ultimately to create an integrated safety culture that provides everyone with a safe workplace and also creates opportunities to keep operators at work well and safely in the longer term. Safety and awareness must be as low as possible in the organisation to achieve these goals. A consistent way of looking at safety is indispensable. Using the ambassadors is a way to achieve the same desired effect across all terminals. (English)

    Betrokkenheid van personeel bij kwaliteit en veiligheid noodzakelijk Koole Terminals heeft een project geïnitieerd waarbij op diverse vlakken gewerkt wordt aan een integrale veiligheidscultuur op haar terminals. Na diverse overnames en de daarbij horende groei, vindt Koole het nu tijd om te werken naar een gezamenlijke veiligheidscultuur. Om dit te kunnen bereiken zullen onder leiding van de lokale managers projecten uitgevoerd worden waarbij diverse uiteenlopende zaken op het gebied van veiligheid worden aangepakt. Bijzonder is dat in deze projecten er een sterke input vanuit de operationele werkvloer komt. Middels het train de trainer principe zullen een aantal zogenaamde HSEQ ambassadeurs worden getraind in zaken als incident onderzoek, opleidingen en aanspreken op gedrag. Deze ambassadeurs (die een vertegenwoordiging vormen van de werkvloer alle terminals in Nederland), werken tevens mee aan het ontwerp van de projecten, de training van de collega’s en fungeren als aanspreekpunt op de werkvloer. Het doel is om uiteindelijk te komen tot een integrale veiligheidscultuur die voor iedereen een veilige werkplek oplevert en tevens de mogelijkheden schept om ook op de langere termijn operators op leeftijd goed en veilig aan het werk te kunnen houden. Veiligheid en bewustzijn moet zo laag mogelijk in de organisatie liggen om deze doelen te behalen. Een consistente manier van kijken naar veiligheid is daarbij onontbeerlijk. Het inzetten van de ambassadeurs is een manier om over alle terminals hetzelfde gewenste effect te bereiken. (Dutch)

    La participación del personal en la calidad y seguridad necesarias Koole Terminals ha iniciado un proyecto en el que se trabaja en una cultura de seguridad integrada en sus terminales en diversas áreas. Después de varias adquisiciones y el crecimiento asociado, Koole ahora encuentra tiempo para trabajar hacia una cultura de seguridad común. Para lograrlo, los proyectos se llevarán a cabo bajo la dirección de los administradores locales que abordarán diversas cuestiones de seguridad. Una característica especial de estos proyectos es que hay una fuerte aportación del lugar de trabajo operativo. A través de la formación, el principio del instructor se capacitará a varios de los llamados embajadores del Cuartel General en cuestiones tales como la investigación de incidentes, la capacitación y el llamamiento al comportamiento. Estos embajadores (que representan el lugar de trabajo en todas las terminales de los Países Bajos), participan también en el diseño de los proyectos, la formación de colegas y actúan como punto de contacto en el lugar de trabajo. El objetivo es, en última instancia, crear una cultura de seguridad integrada que ofrezca a todos un lugar de trabajo seguro y que también cree oportunidades para mantener a los operadores en el trabajo bien y de forma segura a largo plazo. La seguridad y la sensibilización deben ser lo más bajas posible en la organización para lograr estos objetivos. Una forma consistente de ver la seguridad es indispensable.     Il coinvolgimento del personale nella qualità e sicurezza necessari Koole Terminals ha avviato un progetto in cui si svolge un lavoro su una cultura integrata della sicurezza presso i suoi terminal in vari settori. Dopo varie acquisizioni e la crescita associata, Koole trova ora il momento di lavorare verso una cultura comune della sicurezza. A tal fine, i progetti saranno realizzati sotto la guida di manager locali che affronteranno varie questioni di sicurezza. Una caratteristica particolare di questi progetti è che vi è un forte contributo da parte del luogo di lavoro operativo. Attraverso la formazione il principio del formatore una serie di cosiddetti ambasciatori HSEQ saranno formati in questioni quali la ricerca sugli incidenti, la formazione e l'appello al comportamento. Questi ambasciatori (che rappresentano il posto di lavoro tutti i terminali nei Paesi Bassi) partecipano anche alla progettazione dei progetti, alla formazione dei colleghi e fungono da punto di contatto sul posto di lavoro. L'obiettivo è infine quello di creare una cultura integrata della sicurezza che fornisca a tutti un luogo di lavoro sicuro e crei anche opportunità per mantenere gli operatori sul posto di lavoro a lungo termine. La sicurezza e la consapevolezza devono essere quanto più basse possibile all'interno dell'organizzazione per raggiungere tali obiettivi. Un modo coerente di guardare alla sicurezza è indispensabile. Utilizzare gli ambasciatori è un modo per ottenere lo stesso effetto desiderato su tutti i terminali. (Italian)
