The project covers the western part of the line and starts at the end of the underground section after MS 14 (the end of Stage I of Line 3 sections Vladimir Vazov Blvd. — TGC — Zhitnitsa Str., which is implemented from 5 January 2016 with a grant under OPTTI 2014-2020), passes through the Ovcha Kupel residential area and reaches MS 18, which is located below the Ring Road between Central Street and the Sofia-Pernik railway line. The project includes 4 underground stations and a metro line with a length of 3.8 km, most of which is underground, with the exception of the part of the route between MS 14 and MS 15, which will be on the estacade. Under MS 18 it is envisaged that a connection to the railway line and a railway stop will be built as part of the project. Thus, in the near future, the conditions for better integrated operation of the metro, road, rail and air transport systems are being created, which directly leads to an even more effective development of the priority of intermodality in passenger transport. The value of investments for the construction of Stage II of Line 3 is about EUR 103.4 million (excluding VAT) based on the public procurements carried out related to the implementation of this stage.The project will be built: metro route with a total length of 3.8 km, 4 metro stations and a railway station, which are equipped with systems for operation in parts: Electrical installations, Weak current systems, transport automation, Heating, ventilation and air conditioning, Water supply and drainage, Railroad, tracks, road and signal signs and Contact Network.     Етап II на Линия 3 - участъка „ул. Житница– жк Овча купел – Околовръстeн път” е част от поетапното изграждане на линията, заложена в Общия устройствен план и краткосрочната програма на Столична община за развитието на транспорта, като част от гръбнака на транспортно-комуникационната система на града. Проектът обхваща западната част на линията и започва от края на подземния участък след МС 14 (края на Етап І от Линия 3 участъка „бул. Владимир Вазов – ЦГЧ – ул. Житница”, който се изпълнява от 05.01.2016г. с безвъзмездна финансова помощ по ОПТТИ 2014-2020), преминава през жк "Овча купел" и достига до МС 18, която е разположена под Околовръстното шосе между ул."Централна" и ж.п. линията София – Перник. Проекта включва 4 подземни метростанции и метролиния с дължина 3,8 км, като в по-голямата си част е подземен с изключение на частта от трасето между МС 14 и МС 15, която ще бъде на естакада. При МС 18 се предвижда като част от проекта да бъде изградена връзка с жп линията и жп спирка. По този начин в най-близко бъдеще се създават условия за по-добра интегрирана работа на системите метро, автомобилен, ж.п. и въздушен транспорт, което пряко води до още по-ефективното развитие на приоритета за интермодалност при превоза на пътници.Стойност на инвестициите за изграждането на Етап ІІ от Линия 3 е в размер около 103,4 млн.евро (без ДДС) базирана, на проведените обществени поръчки, свързани с изпълнението на този етап.По проекта ще бъдат изградени: трасе на метрото с обща дължина 3,8км, 4 метростанци и ж.п. спирка, които са оборудвани със системи за експлоатация по части: Електроинсталации, Слаботокови системи, Траспортна автоматика, Топлоснабдяване, отопление, вентилация и климатизация, Водоснабдяване и Канализация, Релсов път, репери, пътни и сигнални знаци и Контактна мрежа.
