“Warm lunch in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic in the municipality of Rudozem”
Property / summary | |||||||||||||||
In recent years Rudozem Municipality has successfully developed its social policy, striving to observe the principles of consistency, coherence and partnership with the institutions and the non-governmental sector, as well as to ensure transparency and awareness of the population. For the period 2009-2020 Rudozem Municipality had the opportunity to provide the social service "Wall Lunch", funded by MLSP — Social Protection Fund, under the Project "Providing a warm lunch in the Municipality of Rudozem", under procedure BG05FMOP001-3.002 "Providing a warm lunch 2016-2020, funded by the Operational Programme for Food and/or Basic Material Assistance and by the Target Programme "Wall lunch at home in an emergency situation 2020" to socially disadvantaged people, thereby improving the quality of life of all consumers involved. In the context of the pandemic emergency, the provision of a warm lunch has proved to be highly significant assistance, as it offers a real opportunity for the poorest and most vulnerable people to continue to have food on the one hand and, on the other hand, to be able to receive it at home, where containment measures so require. In connection with the complicated epidemic situation in the country, unemployment has unfortunately increased as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. It is she and low incomes that cause many families into poverty who are unable to secure one of the most important things for human existence — food. The lack of funds causes people to resort to purchasing cheaper and poorer food products, which in turn affects the healthy diet of society. The implementation of this project will help solve one of the most pressing problems of today — satisfying the food needs of people in need of the municipality of Rudozem. (English)

(Bulgarian)
