“Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Renovation of Sites on the Territory of Nikopol Municipality”Subject 1“Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Vasil Levski Street Cherkovitsa Village, Municipality Nikopol”
Property / summary

The main objective of the project proposal is to implement investments in the field of transport infrastructure on the territory of Nikopol municipality and to promote social inclusion and increase the quality of life in Nikopol and the municipality as a whole, by improving the facilities and ensuring a healthy and safe environment for the population. The street network in rural areas is relatively well developed, but is not well maintained, it is depreciated and needs rehabilitation. The poor state of part of the street network serving rural areas increases the costs of existing businesses and reduces the incentive to invest. It is difficult for residents to travel daily, leading to a reduction in intra-territorial labour mobility (job opportunities in other settlements without a change of residence) and access to services. Sub-site 2. ‘Renovation of the Livingston Coastal Park, on the one hand, meets the needs of the population in the municipality, both in terms of the quality of the street network and in terms of improving living conditions in the area. The Livingston Coast Park is the face of the town of Nikopol. To the west, it borders the Port of Nikopol, at whose port cruise ships carrying foreign tourists land. The park is the first thing that tourists see, getting off the boats and usually spending time for rest and recreation. For 2018, the park was visited by more than 13,000 tourists carried by 92 vessels. In the eastern part, the park borders the bus station, where the buses from the intercity lines serving the residents of the municipality, as well as connecting Nikopol with the district town of Pleven, with Svishtov and the capital city of Sofia, stop. Waiting for the buses to leave, many passengers use the park for rest, especially in the summer months. In addition, the park serves the entire population of the town of Nikopol, which according to GRAO data as of 15 March 2019 was 4385 people. (English)

(Bulgarian)
