The aim of the project is to develop a Training room concept for the Hippos campus in Jyväskylä under the auspices of the Research Centre for Competition and Excellence (KIHU) by the Centre of Excellence in the field of sports training, load and recovery. The term “Training room” refers to a set of comprehensive support services for athletes, the purpose of which is to promote the athlete’s health and the quality of coaching in preparation for, during and after the exercise.The project will create a network of research, development and innovation activities, increase expertise in coaching and training, develop the service chain, establish a national and international network of implementing partners, expand the service offering to foreign customers and promote training support services for athletes through various pilot projects. The project will create a centre of expertise related to the load and recovery of sports training. The main Finnish actors in the competence network are the University of Jyväskylä, Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences Ltd, the Finnish Olympic Committee and companies coming to the Hippos region. Among the foreign players, the network includes Scandinavian Network for Elite Sports and the Association of Sport Performance Centers networks. The key result of the project is to raise the level of competence of the Training Room Centre to meet the requirements of international top sports customers and other customer groups in the field of sports coaching, stress, rehabilitation and recovery. The project’s Training Room Centre of Excellence will develop into an international leader in Northern Europe’s own field. The project is linked to the internationalisation strategy and development programme of the Research Centre for Competition and Excellence, which aims to be one of the Olympic Solidarity training centres of the International Olympic Committee. Hankkeen tavoitteena on kehittää Kilpa- ja huippu-urheilun tutkimuskeskuksen (KIHU) johdolla urheiluvalmennuksen, kuormituksen ja palautumisen osaamiskeskittymän toimesta Training room-konsepti Jyväskylän Hippoksen kampukselle. Termillä ”Training room” tarkoitetaan urheilijoiden kokonaisvaltaisten tukipalveluiden kokonaisuutta, joiden tehtävänä on edistää urheilijan terveyttä ja valmentautumisen laatua harjoitukseen valmistauduttaessa, harjoituksen aikana ja harjoituksen jälkeen palauduttaessa.Hankkeessa luodaan tutkimus-, kehitys- ja innovaatiotoiminnan verkosto, lisätään valmennuksen ja koulutuksen asiantuntijaosaamista, kehitetään palveluketjun toimintaa, muodostetaan kansallinen ja kansainvälinen toteuttajakumppaniverkosto, laajennetaan palvelutarjontaa ulkomaisille asiakkaille ja edistetään urheilijoiden valmentautumisen tukipalveluja erilaisten pilottihankkeiden kautta.Hanke synnyttää urheiluharjoittelun kuormitukseen ja palautumiseen liittyvän osaamiskeskittymän, jonka keskeisimmät kotimaiset toimijat osaamisverkostossa ovat Jyväskylän yliopisto, Jyväskylän Ammattikorkeakoulu Oy, Suomen Olympiakomitea ja Hippoksen alueelle tulevat yritykset. Ulkomaisista toimijoista osaamisverkostoon kuuluvat Scandinavian Network for Elite Sports ja Association of Sport Performance Centers verkostojen jäsenet.Hankkeen keskeisenä tuloksena on Training room-osaamiskeskittymän osaamistason nosto vastaamaan kansainvälisen tason huippu-urheiluasiakkaiden ja muiden asiakasryhmien vaatimuksia urheiluvalmennuksen, kuormituksen sekä kuntoutuksen ja palautumisen alueella. Hankkeen Training room- osaamiskeskittymästä kehittyy kansainvälinen ja Pohjois-Euroopan oman alansa johtava toimija. Hanke liittyy Kilpa- ja huippu-urheilun tutkimuskeskuksen kansainvälistymisstrategiaan ja kehittämisohjelmaan, jonka mukaisesti tavoitteena on olla yksi kansainvälisen Olympiakomitean Olympic Solidarity-koulutuskeskuksista.
