The project utilises intelligent transport to diversify the economic structure of the North East — Ii region and to promote a low-carbon society. The project will streamline both travel and commuting with smart digital solutions. Through information, the project helps companies to develop new business models enabled by intelligent transport and to take part in the growing transport market. In addition, smart solutions will improve the environmental friendliness and safety of mobility. The project will develop (1.) an intelligent solution for tourism transport to cater primarily to car-free tourists in such a way that the needs of growing tourism are addressed as agile as possible, and (2.) a digital solution for commuting carpools to promote rapid commuting traffic and thus the vitality of the regions and the availability of skilled labour. The region’s business community will be informed about the opportunities offered by the digitalisation of transport, as well as a workshop type aimed at attracting companies to develop new business concepts based on this. In addition, both commuters and tourists will be informed about digital solutions for safer mobility.Increasing sectors, mobility and tourism, the project will be channelled into low-carbon solutions to create a platform for smart specialisation in the province that promotes business and employment. Hankkeessa hyödynnetään älyliikennettä Koillismaa – Ii -alueen elinkeinorakenteen monipuolistamiseksi ja vähähiilisen yhteiskunnan edistämiseksi. Hankkeessa sujuvoitetaan sekä matkailuliikennettä että työmatkaliikennettä älykkäiden digitaalisten ratkaisujen avulla. Hankkeessa yrityksiä autetaan tiedotuksen kautta kehittämään älykkään liikenteen mahdollistamia uusia liiketoimintamalleja ja ottamaan osansa kasvavista liikenteen markkinoista. Lisäksi liikkumisen ympäristöystävällisyyttä ja turvallisuutta parannetaan älykkäiden ratkaisujen avulla. Hankkeessa kehitetään (1.) matkailuliikenteen älykäs ratkaisu palvelemaan ensisijaisesti autottomia matkailijoita siten, että kasvavan matkailun tarpeisiin vastataan mahdollisimman ketterästi sekä (2.) digitaalinen ratkaisu työmatkaliikenteen kimppakyydeille edistämään nopeaa työmatkajoukkoliikennettä ja sitä kautta alueiden elinvoimaisuutta ja osaavan työvoiman saatavuutta. Alueen elinkeinoelämälle jaetaan tietoa liikenteen digitalisoitumisen tarjoamista mahdollisuuksista, sekä työpajatyyppisesti pyritään saamaan yritykset kehittämään tähän perustuvia uusia liiketoimintakonsepteja. Lisäksi sekä työmatkalaisia että matkailijoita informoidaan turvallisempaan liikkumiseen tähtäävistä digitaalisista ratkaisuista.Hankkeessa kasvavat alat, liikkuminen ja matkailu, kanavoidaan vähähiilisiin ratkaisuihin, joilla luodaan maakunnan älykästä erikoitumista hyödyntävä, liiketoimintaa ja työllisyyttä edistävä alusta.
