As part of the site’s evolution towards new products, the Capsugel plant in Colmar belonging to the Lonza Group has acquired a new air treatment plant and a new production of ice water. The engines of the CTA will be driven with variable speed and part of the refreshment will be provided in free-cooling. The new production of ice water will use a new HFO fluid with less impact on the environment compared to conventional fluids in case of leakage. The facility will also include a new ice-water storage tank that will smooth the process’s peaks and thus reduce cold group start-ups, thus improving the annual overall performance of the Ice Water Plant.
