This project concerns the welcome of Mr. Joseph SPATAFORA, Professor at the Oregon State University (OSU) in the United States, at the Interactions Arbres — Microorganisms Laboratory (IAM) for a period of 6 months. This research is devoted to the biology of forest trees and fungi and in particular to the study of mycorrhizal symbiosis and decomposing wood fungi. This involves understanding the molecular mechanisms that determine and control the development and functioning of ectomycorrhizal mutualistic symbiosis, as well as the evolution of life traits in forest fungi including xylophage saprotrophes. This theme is part of a more general framework that aims to identify molecular determinants controlling the interactions, established during evolution, between plants and micro-organisms. This research is all the more important as sustainable inter-organism interactions have shaped the evolution of plants and, as a result, the evolution and sustainability of ecosystems. (English)
