La Guadeloupe possède un patrimoine naturel de grande qualité et porte une responsabilité dans sa conservation et sa valorisation. Ce projet vise à soutenir les actions des plans spécifiques en faveur des espèces patrimoniales particulièrement emblématiques et menacées que sont les tortues marines et l’iguane des Petites-Antilles. Des plans analogues, visant à améliorer l’état de conservation de ces espèces patrimoniales, sont mis en œuvre de façon semblable dans les autres collectivités françaises d’Amérique et dans d’autres territoires antillais.
