As part of the 2014-2020 CPER, the Balard Chemistry Centre is carrying out the CCB2020 project in order to have an attractive and structuring university site for training, research and innovation in chemistry. Backed by the fundamental and applied research forces of the Balard Chemistry Centre, the two technological platforms, namely the Analysis and Characterisation Platform (PAC) dedicated to analytical sciences and the SynBio3 synthesis platform, are a major asset for the success of this CCB2020 project but also of all the 3S projects promoted by other regional centres of excellence such as the Rabelais (Biology/Health), Agropolis (agro and bio-environment) and MIPS (Physics) clusters. Indeed, among the priority 3S areas in Languedoc-Roussillon, the axis “Innovative and Targeted Therapies — Diagnostics” brings together cross-cutting and multidisciplinary research themes (chemistry-biology-clinical). The present application for ERDF aid corresponds to the co-financing needed to acquire instrumental technologies related to these 3S projects, thereby strengthening the local synergy between chemists, biologists and clinicians.
