The BNIF project is supported by the BioNanoNMRI technology platform of the small organisation of the University of Montpellier (UM) on the Triolet campus in Montpellier. This platform develops actions of the University of Montpellier on the theme of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance imaging (NMR) in particular on small animal and plant organisms. This platform aims to offer the academic or private scientific community the fullest possible offer of innovations and services in life imaging by pooling the equipment and skills of researchers in one place. To meet this objective, the platform wants to equip itself with recent equipment that allows it to carry out 2 activities: — an imaging service activity to answer biological questions, — a demonstrator activity to develop and implement new technologies. This multidisciplinary project involves researchers from a variety of backgrounds and private partners, and is complementary to the actions carried out by the already existing biological cellular and molecular imaging platforms. This project brought to the Contract of Plan de Plan Région 2015-2020 Occitanie by the University of Montpellier asks for the co-financing of the latest generation imaging equipment covering in the long term all the modalities that allow the study of the small animal and the plant in a non-invasive manner.
