Les relais de téléphonie mobile consomment énormément d'énergie avec des rendements très faible, entrainant un gaspillage d'énergie colossal - équivalent à 6 centrales nucléaires qui fonctionnent en pure perte au niveau mondial. WUPATEC développe une technologie permettant d'améliorer le rendement des amplificateurs de puissance de ces relais. Ce projet de R&D a pour objet de relever les challenges techniques pour améliorer le rendement de ces circuits de 20 à 30 points, et faciliter l'adoption de cette technologie pour les relais de téléphonie mobile, ce qui appliqué à l'échelle mondiale représente une opportunité économique (3 Milliards de $ /an pour les opérateurs) et écologique (réduction de 35 à 50 millions de tonnes équivalent CO2).
