Um die Entwicklung der Gemeinde Aarbergen nachhaltig und zukunftsgerecht zu gestalten sowie den aktuellen Herausforderungen u. a. der Konversion einer Industriebrache, mit geeigneten Instrumenten zu begegnen, soll als Planungs- und Entscheidungsgrundlage ein ISEK erarbeitet werden. Die jahrelange starke Prägung von Gewerbe und Wirtschaft durch die ACO Passavant Guss GmbH, dem größten Unternehmen und Arbeitgeber in der Gemeinde hat eine vielfältige strukturelle wie räumliche gewerbliche Entwicklung in Aarbergen und der Region erschwert. Die Schließung der Gießerei in 2016 ist nun Anlass für die Erarbeitung einer strategischen Planungsgrundlage in Gestalt eines integrierten Stadtentwicklungskonzeptes (German)

In order to shape the development of the municipality of Aarbergen in a sustainable and future-oriented manner as well as to meet the current challenges, including the conversion of an industrial site, with suitable instruments, an ISEK is to be developed as a basis for planning and decision-making. The strong influence of trade and business for years by ACO Passavant Guss GmbH, the largest company and employer in the municipality, has made a variety of structural and spatial industrial development in Aarbergen and the region more difficult. The closure of the foundry in 2016 is now an occasion for the development of a strategic planning basis in the form of an integrated urban development concept (English)
