Este projecto pretende apoiar a gestão/crescimento sustentado do mergulho com tubarões/jamantas nos Açores. Combinaremos uma abordagem analítica e experimental, modelação de dados de pescas e telemetria, observação e marcação com tecnologia de ponta. Em parceria com a indústria faremos uma avaliação do potencial de novos locais de mergulho. Finalmente serão propostas medidas de gestão acompanhadas da projecção de impactes socioeconómicos. This project aims to support the sustained management/growth of shark/jamant diving in the Azores. We will combine an analytical and experimental approach, fisheries data modeling and telemetry, observation and marking with state-of-the-art technology. In partnership with the industry we will make an assessment of the potential of new dive sites. Finally, management measures will be proposed together with the projection of socio-economic impacts.
