An X-ray irradiation system is requested to serve research groups from various Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII) Centers on the Majadahonda campus (Madrid), including CNM, IIER and UFIEC._x000D_ In ISCIII translational research is carried out in different areas of Biomedicine that would benefit from the acquisition of this irradiator, including: Research in immune response and inflammation, transplantation, haematology, neurology, oncology and infectious diseases. Irradiation techniques are required that are applicable to cell transfer experiments for transplantation studies, in vivo cell therapy and tumor response, analysis of the differentiation of cellular subpopulations, induction of mutagenesis and virulence analysis of microorganisms modified by irradiation, among others. _x000D_ the ISCIII does not have an irradiator, so researchers who need to use it must travel long distances, from the Majadahonda campus to other research centers at the CAM, transporting samples; or manage the transport and accommodation of irradiated animals in centres outside the ISCIII, which is particularly complicated._x000D_ Therefore it would be of great importance to have the irradiation equipment requested, which would contribute to the achievement of research lines and projects and the promotion of desirable R & D, with regional, national and European consequences.
