    El objetivo general del proyecto es la selección de nuevas variedades de olivo y la generación de información científico-técnica de interés para el sector del olivar. Este objetivo general se articula en torno a varios objetivos específicos que dan respuesta transversal a varias de las líneas prioritarias definidas en el Anexo I de la convocatoria, relacionados con: a) mejora de la calidad sensorial y química del aceite de oliva y estudio de la interacción genotipo x ambiente para caracteres de interés; b) generación y selección de material vegetal y caracterización de resistencia a enfermedades y plagas; c) mejora de patrones para diferentes objetivos de interés agronómico; d) selección de genotipos adaptados al cultivo ecológico; e) priorización de caracteres de interés en mejora genética de olivo. Con todo ello, las actividades incluidas en el proyecto recogen la mayoría de las líneas de importancia en la mejora de la especie que pueden contribuir a aumentar la rentabilidad y sostenibilidad del sector del olivar en nuestra región.     The overall objective of the project is the selection of new olive varieties and the generation of scientific and technical information of interest to the olive sector. This general objective is structured around a number of specific objectives that address cross-cutting several of the priority lines defined in Annex I of the call, relating to: improvement of the sensory and chemical quality of olive oil and study of genotype x environment interaction for characters of interest; generation and selection of plant material and characterisation of resistance to diseases and pests; improvement of patterns for different objectives of agronomic interest; selection of genotypes adapted to organic farming; e) prioritisation of characters of interest in genetic improvement of olive trees. With all this, the activities included in the project include most of the lines of importance in the improvement of the species that can contribute to increasing the profitability and sustainability of the olive sector in our region.
